I paint primarily with oils although I’m not confined to them.  My paintings are multilayered and textured.  I love intimate spaces.   Playing with light and color and the way they break things up visually is my passion.  I love the woods because of the filtered light coming from all directions: more yellow here and bluer over there, like stained glass.  I’m fascinated by the direction and pull the light creates, both inside a room with a window, or outside with the stained glass effect that I observe in nature.

I received a BFA from Brigham Young University in 1993 and have been painting ever since.  I have done a lot of commissioned work as well as my creative work, and have paintings in private collections all over the country.

I live most of the year in rural Pennsylvania with my husband and children, but I spend a lot of time in Utah as well.  I love to garden, cook, spend time with my family, and of course paint.

I want my paintings to be reverent and magical....a place where people can go and rest, to almost feel transported.  I know it happens to me....I will be walking through a museum or gallery and a painting I see will literally transport me physically, electrically zing me.  Something about the composition and the colors  just strike the chord inside of me that lifts me to a different place,  That is my goal.  That is what I want to do for people.
